You know that your marriage has seen better days, but you’re not ready to give up on your union. What about your spouse, however?
It takes two committed people to make a marriage. If your spouse is planning to leave, the clues may not be 100% obvious to you. Do any of these sound familiar?
Some of their favorite things seem to be missing
It’s one thing if your spouse packs up their sports memorabilia because they want to renovate the room they use to watch the games. It’s another if they suddenly decide to rent a storage unit and pack things away without a clear reason. If prized possessions start being removed from the home, you need to be wary.
They’re always on the phone or computer
If your spouse seems to be glued to the computer or their phone and you think they’re messaging someone else, you need to be alert. Frequently, that’s a sign that they’re already having (at minimum) an emotional affair with someone else. They may also be working out their plans to leave. Be doubly suspicious if they seem unusually secretive about what they’re doing.
They’re suddenly very conscious of their looks
If your spouse is on a “health kick” that’s been a long time coming, that’s probably not a cause for concern. On the other hand, if they suddenly seem super motivated (without any obvious reason) to get into shape and are paying more attention to their clothes and personal grooming, they may be prepping for the dating scene or are already involved with someone.
